Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Biomedical Image Analysis

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the EPSRC Project ‘Seebibyte: Visual Search for the Era of Big Data’. You will have the opportunity to work as part of the Biomedical Image Analysis group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. All posts are available for a fixed-term of 2 years in the first instance with the possibility of an extension.

The objectives of the project are first, to carry out fundamental research in order to develop the next generation of computer vision algorithms that are able to analyse, describe biological structure and motion (cell tracking and collective migration) and to transfer these methods to other disciplines and to industry. There will be a particular focus on Deep Learning methods.

You should possess a doctorate, or be in the final stages of writing up for submission, in computer vision or machine learning for the primary interest (1), or in computer vision or machine learning applied to bio-medical imaging for the primary interest (2). A background and expertise in recognition in images and videos and machine learning together with good written and oral communication skills are essential.
