The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Research Assistant to join the novel vaccine development research team. OVG conducts world-leading research into creating new vaccines and optimising existing vaccines for children and adults. Our research has recently led to the much-anticipated introduction of the Meningitis B vaccine for babies into the UK vaccination schedule, but also focuses on global health.

The role is essential to deliverance of research projects involving new vaccine development against bacterial infections, including preclinical studies. You will use a large variety of techniques from molecular biology and cell biology, to pre-clinical vaccine evaluation, immunology and handling and analysis of blood samples from clinical studies. Training will be provided but experience in preclinical work and immunology techniques such as ELISA, ELISpot and flow cytometry are expected. Applicants should have good communication and organisational skills with good attention to detail, an interest in research and capacity to work autonomously.
