Department of Special Education and Counselling
Faculty of Education and Human Development 

The Department aspires to be a leading regional centre for the study of Special and Inclusive Education, Guidance and Counselling, Speech-Language Pathology, Learning Disabilities, and Gifted Education working collaboratively with schools and service organizations locally and internationally.

The Department is now seeking academics excited by the prospect of contributing their expertise in areas of special education and inclusion. 

The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and development of the Department that plays a central role in the promotion of inclusion in all areas of special education, such as intervention program, assessment and measurement, and use of information technology; pursuing research and development projects that contribute to a better understanding of schools and the contexts in which they operate; and working with schools and education policy-makers in improving schooling for all learners. 

Applicants with expertise in following areas are welcome to apply: Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Gifted Education, and Neuroscience in Special Education. 

Applicants should have a Doctoral degree in related areas with a track record of research, preferably with several years of working experiences in teaching or working experience with SEN in special schools or in NGOs.  They should have evidence of plans for future development and the capacity to build up good working relationship with schools and helping professionals.  Bilingual competency in English and Chinese and an appreciation of the challenges of working in a multicultural context will be advantageous.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
