Full Time, Permanent - Academic

This is a full time, permanent appointment within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Overall purpose of post: We are looking for an individual with a background in coaching pedagogy modules both practical and theoretical including, coaching practice to theory, pedagogy and human movement. Potential candidates should have experience within coaching or PE as a practitioner, either as a coach or coach developer as well as the academic credentials.

You should have:

  • An MSc in Coaching Science or similar programme (or near completion)
  • Teaching experience and/or Training at undergraduate level in Higher or Further Education
  • Experience of high performance coaching environments either as player or coach
  • Experience of teaching curriculum physical education at either primary or secondary school level

You will be:

  • Teaching students using appropriate instruction methods such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, on-line learning and other formal pedagogic work
  • Working towards undertaking quality research (REF)
  • Participating in the administrative processes of the Faculty, including committee membership, quality assurance, recruitment, selection and admission of students
  • Undertaking curriculum development work including identification of student requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses as well as course materials within the health and physiology strand provision
