The salary will be paid at Grade 7, per annum £41,212 to £49,149 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

The School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences is looking for two Lecturers in Ultra-High Field Magnetic Resonance Engineering or Physics, at least one of whom will be appointed to focus on RF technology research, particularly novel RF coils and related devices. The purpose of these roles is to develop research programmes in ultra-high field engineering/physics that will maximise the impact of our new 7T system and to foster related developments at other field strengths.

The post holder(s) will play an active role in the development of advanced RF technology, particularly RF coils for transmit and/or receive, and associated amplifier and control capabilities. The post holder(s) will build research teams to develop their own research interests and actively work to foster the research of others, particularly junior members of the department and clinical colleagues. As well as contributing to the School’s teaching and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The post holder(s) will contribute to the management and direction of MR technology strategy within the School, including contributing to the development of new technologies and methodologies for MRI, particularly ultra-high field MRI.

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview and a seminar to the Department.
