Consistently ranked as one of the UK’s top medical schools, Swansea University medical school now seeks to appoint a professor with expertise in innovation and engagement. With the success of the Institute of life science (ILS), the research and innovation arm of the medical school, we now seek to expand our range of enterprise and innovation activities still further. There are exciting opportunities through ARCH, a Regional Collaboration for Health, and Swansea Bay City Deal to increase our local and global reach in enterprise and innovation in the life sciences and health.

We are now investing in our enterprise and innovation team to drive forward our already strong relationships with business; grow our potential for significant impact; and galvanise regional innovation. 

You will bring together academics, industry and health professionals to work up proposals; build external partnerships to deliver commercial opportunities; construct business-like teams and structures to drive forward promising ventures; and develop long term strategic partnerships with regional, national and international stakeholders including project funding organisations, investors and individuals. You will also manage a personal portfolio of projects and key relationships.

You will lead the ILS enterprise and innovation team and will play a key role in the medical school leadership team, report to Professor Keith Lloyd Head of School.
