University of Liverpool - Computing Services Department (CSD)

The departmental systems team provides high quality technical support and technical consultancy to the universities facilities, residential and commercial services (FRCS) department. The scope of support covers a wide range of technologies ranging from complex enterprise software systems to support the Universities estate management function to networked devices such as access control points and CCTV cameras.

You will have particular responsibility for administering and developing FRCS’s integrated workplace management system in line with a programme of development that has been recently devised by colleagues in FRCS. You will have the opportunity to influence and guide FRCS colleagues, utilising your technical and analytical skills to implement the best technical and business solutions.

You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience), technical qualifications in ICT disciplines and have extensive practical experience supporting workplace management systems or similar complex enterprise class systems (supporting a large, complex area of the business). This includes management of the server platforms right through to data interfaces with other university systems.

You will have the ability to write clear and concise documentation for a range of different audience type’s e.g. technical documentation for the team, project reports for project stakeholders, system specifications for suppliers etc.

You will have good attention to detail and an analytical approach to technical issues, allowing you to deliver high quality support services.
