Adjunct/Part-time teacher in Architecture

Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project" universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local government of China. 

School of Urban Design of Wuhan University aims to develop premium quality architecture, urban planning and design programs. Rooted in the university’s profound academic and cultural traditions, the school has forged its characteristics in an academic pursuit for cultural significance, digital technologies, international orientation and innovative capacity. The school has two first-level disciplines in architecture and urban planning with high level research platforms and research groups. 

School of Urban Design seeks applicants for adjunct teachers and part-time teachers to teach students of Wuhan University-University of Dundee “4+1” Undergraduate Double Degree Program in Architectural Studies which was approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 2013. By 2016, the program has admitted 4 classes with about 140 students in total. The faculty of both universities have worked collaboratively for effective management and desirable teaching plans. 

Successful applicants will teach Architectural Design studios as well as give lectures on architecture theories, subject to program demand, applicants’ backgrounds and their own intentions. 

Applicants must hold a PhD in Architecture or M.Arch degree from an overseas university with certain work or teaching experience. For those who have very rich work or teaching experiences, a B.Arch degree is also acceptable. Applicants are required to teach in English.   

Successful applicants will be paid a competitive salary based on their qualifications, titles and teaching workloads. Wuhan University will be responsible for accommodation in Wuhan and reimburse travel expenses (to and from Wuhan) or offer travel and accommodation allowance.
