Grade and Salary Band: Grade 8 (£34,520 to £39,992) or Grade 9 (£41,212 to £47,722)

The department of Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability (SES) is a vibrant, teaching and research active team of professionals, hosting the Strategy & Sustainability subject group and the Enterprise subject group.

Our department is focussed on delivering high quality programmes encompassing high employability outcomes and student satisfaction. Our courses and programmes are accredited by bodies like the Chartered Management Institute, Institute of Enterprise & Entrepreneurs and AMBA. We run an MSc in Management and a large undergraduate programme in Business Management. In addition, we have launched our new CMDA apprenticeship programmes. Academic staff in SES are also research active and are members of one or more research centres which include the Sustainability and Ethical Enterprise Group, Centre for People and Performance and Sylvia Pankhurst research centre.

Role

Within this role you will teach on undergraduate, taught postgraduate and executive education programmes, including the Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship, to develop effective independent learners. You will lead and develop quality programmes, including those that may lead to professional accreditation, that embed employability to ensure student success. You will also be encouraged to undertake research and knowledge exchange to contribute to the development of new areas in enterprise, delivering commercial enterprise activity where appropriate.

Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you will have a PhD in a related area. You may also have relevant industry experience and be engaged in teaching and research.

You will be able to communicate complex information with clarity to a range of diverse audiences and lead the work of a team, co-ordinating effort and resources to deliver objectives. You will also have significant industrial and/or client management experience.

You will have previous experience of teaching in a similar capacity, as well as experience of research and submitting publications to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
