The Department for Children and Young People’s Health is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Children’s Nurse to join our team as a Senior Lecturer. As a Senior Lecturer you will need to be highly motivated, well organised and passionate about delivering exceptional evidence based teaching. You will provide academic leadership to those working within programme areas and will be responsible for managing taught programmes. You will develop and apply inspiring teaching techniques and content which foster enthusiasm, understanding and critical enquiry amongst students. You must be able to work closely with practice partners to establish and maintain clinical links which ensure strong theory to practice links. Providing pastoral support and enabling students to thrive and become independent professionals who are proud to be part of Birmingham City University is essential to your role. You will be supported to develop research, enterprise and scholarly activities which are integral to the role. We welcome applicants from all specialities, including Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services, acute and community services.

Applicants must hold a first degree and current registration with the NMC as a Registered Children’s Nurse. Experience of teaching either in clinical practice or a HEI setting with a recognised teaching qualification is essential. A higher degree would be desirable to fulfil the requirements of this post.
