Grade 6, £17.37 - £19.54 per teaching hour, plus holiday pay

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as an Academic Skills Tutor working in our highly regarded Skills for Learning team.  The development of students’ academic skills is central of the University’s Education Strategy, and as a member of the Skills for Learning team, you will be carrying out a crucial role in supporting the aims and objectives of this key strategy.  The Skills for Learning team supports the development of academic communication, numeracy and IT skills, and this post will specialise in the area of Academic Communication. Working in close partnership with academic staff in the Faculties, you will be involved in creating innovative teaching and learning materials to support both online and face to face delivery, and running a programme of workshops and tutorials. 

You should have a degree in a relevant discipline, experience of delivering learning support to students, and have the ability to teach academic skills, particularly Academic Communication skills. You will also have an understanding and appreciation of the different learning styles employed by learners.
