Safety Officer

As a Safety Officer, you will be:

  • assisting the Safety Manager with all aspects of Health and Safety, including training courses, carrying out accident investigations, risk assessments and conducting inspections
  • providing administrative support to the Safety Manager, including acting as secretary to the health and safety committee
  • assisting the Safety Manager in all aspects of health and safety in a busy university environment, and in their absence, undertaking the day to day running of the office.

To apply for the Safety Officer role you should have:

  • Significant experience in a health and safety field
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • effective verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to present training courses on your own and produce written reports and minutes
  • previous experience of conducting risk assessments.

International applicants from outside the EU will need to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK.
