Head of Educational and Staff Development

The University seeks an exceptional candidate as Head of Educational and Staff Development to lead and manage the Oxford Centre for Staff and Learning Development (OCSLD), and to be a Deputy Director of the HR Directorate. The Centre enjoys an international reputation for educational development and practice in higher education, and plays a key role in delivering the University¿s Strategy for Enhancing the Student Experience (SESE). It also delivers a broad programme of staff and organisational development, both for our diverse workforce and external clients.

The Head of Educational and Staff Development will be responsible for:

  • strategic leadership and management of the Centre to deliver high-quality educational, staff and organisational development
  • providing expert support and guidance on staff and curriculum development to support the University's SESE
  • delivering a comprehensive programme of educational, staff and organisational development
  • undertaking pedagogic research, evaluation and/or consultancy
  • supporting the senior management team of the directorate and deputising for the Director of HR

To apply for the Head of Educational and Staff Development role you should have:

  • a good honours degree, and preferably a PhD
  • significant experience of educational development and innovation in HE
  • leadership/management experience
  • problem-solving and creative thinking, balanced by sound planning and organisational skills to deliver.
