This is an exciting opportunity to join our thriving Conference Team. Previous events include the prestigious Lambeth Conference, we were the accommodation provider for the Open Golf Tournament and we have won the Group Travel Award for 'Best University Accommodation for Groups' since 2008. We offer a wide range of conference services and are the largest and most flexible venue in the South East of England.

You will be responsible for the sales and administration of meetings and groups on campus with particular emphasis on our Language and Summer School business which generates between £1.2M and £1.5M income per annum.

You will build close working relationships with existing and new external and internal clients and UK/European Language School operators/specialists.

You will be expected to maximise revenue opportunities for the University whilst ensuring consistently high levels of customer service and satisfaction.

As Events Co-ordinator you will:

Promote and sell the University facilities to groups, language and summer schools and other clients through regular communication and via a range of media. Manage the allocation of bedrooms, meeting rooms and catering venues to all clients under your control ensuring that their requirements are met whilst maximising the occupancy of spaces on campus.

Provide information to other Departments and stakeholders to ensure that a client’s operational requirements are met and events run smoothly. Ensure timely and accurate billing of all events.

Represent the University, at various travel trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, industry forums and networking events both in the UK and overseas.

To be successful in this role you will need:

A passion for and experience of Event Co-ordination gained in a large scale, high volume conference or group orientated hotel or venue.

GCSE Grade C or 4 in English and Maths or equivalent.

Computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (or similar) and its various applications. Please refer to the job description for a full list of duties.
