This post is available for 12 months to work on an Engineering and Physical Science Research Council funded programme, the successful candidate will undertake experimental research in the field of ultra-high intensity laser-matter interactions with particular emphasis to the generation of high-quality positron beams and their practical applications. The research will contribute to achieving the main goals of the recently awarded EPSRC platform grant “NanoRad - Ultrafast, nano-scale material response to radiation and applications of ultrafast radiation sources” and the European project EuPRAXIA.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Have or be about to obtain PhD in physics or related subject.
  • At least 3 years relevant research experience
  • Experience in experimental research in the field of laser-plasma interactions.
  • Publication record commensurate with stage of career.

Salary scale: £32,548 - £42,418 per annum (including contribution points)
