Programme Co-ordinator

This is an excellent opportunity to work as a member of the English Language Programmes' management team from January to December 2018 to cover a period of maternity leave.

We welcome applications from current staff as an internal secondment to the post.

Reporting to the Pre-sessional Programme Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, development and review of the programmes. The post holder will work with the other coordinators to manage our EAP courses for undergraduate and postgraduate international students with offers to study at the university, and will teach on our academic year and summer programmes.
 
Duties will include:

  • coordination of an intensive 8-week pre-sessional programme, with direction from the Programme Manager, and taking the lead on all follow-up work (e.g. write-ups and outcomes from the programme, teacher and student feedback, course report, and submission of course information to the ELP Board of Studies)
  • running an Autumn pre-sessional programme from September to December 2018 
  • prepare course input and assessment for a new course (Post Graduate Certificate in Preliminary Doctoral Studies)

The successful candidate will have significant experience of teaching EAP on pre-sessional programmes and / or proven experience of managing courses (e.g. delivery of English and study skills support to Undergraduate and Post graduate students), be qualified to degree level, with Diploma in TEFL/TESOL or equivalent qualification.

It would be an advantage to have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics, TEFL or TESOL.

This is a full time position (35 hours per week) and is fixed term from 2 January to 21 December 2018
