Centre Administrator - Microvascular Research

Applications are invited for a full-time Centre Administrator post within the world-renowned William Harvey Research Institute at Barts and The London Medical School, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The position is within the Centre for Microvascular Research, an internationally respected hub of academic excellence in inflammatory and vascular research, composed of >35 staff. The Centre is based within the picturesque Charterhouse Square Campus of QMUL in the heart of City of London.

The appointed person will provide Personal Assistance support to the Head of the Centre and general administrative support to other academics. Applicants should have significant Administrative/Secretarial experience. Applicants should have strong professional ethics, commitment and judgement, excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to demonstrate effective and efficient multi-tasking. In addition, the applicants should have high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent numeracy skills (minimum Grade B at GCSE), as well as the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate well and work within a team are also essential. Experience of managing budgets and IT proficiency at high level will be advantageous.

The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range (£26,717- £32,956) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
