Postdoctoral Research Associate in Particle Physics Grade 7

The particle physics research group in Liverpool is looking for a highly motivated individual to work with us on the Lux-Zeplin (LZ) Dark Matter search experiment. The Liverpool LZ is responsible for the Outer Detector Optical Calibration System (OCS) consisting of optical fibres connected to VME-based LED drivers controlled via FPGA boards. You should have a PhD in physics, electronics engineering or equivalent, substantial knowledge of programming languages like C++ and/or Python; experience of working with particle physics detectors and electronics including software development for Data Acquisition and experience of integration of particle physics equipment into larger systems is essential to the role. A willingness to travel within the UK, overseas and spend a period of time in the USA is essential. The post is available until 30 June 2019.
