Research Associate: Development Frontiers in Crime, Livelihoods and Urban Poverty in Nigeria (FCLP)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 - £37,551, inclusive of London Allowance.

A Research Associate is required to work on the Development Frontiers in Crime, Livelihoods and Urban Poverty in Nigeria (FCLP) project funded by the ESRC. This is a full time post for 1 year commencing 1st January 2018. The Research Associate will be required to assist in the collection, analysis and visualisation of a variety of spatially referenced socioeconomic and criminological datasets. They will also facilitate workshops in Nigeria and create training and data resources associated with the project.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in GIS, have worked with socioeconomic data and, if possible, gained experience working in developing countries. It is essential that they have a PhD (or be very close to its completion), in any of the following:  a quantitative speciality within a social or engineering science discipline such as; statistics, geography, economics, sociology, epidemiology/ public health, GIS, spatial analysis.
