Financial Assurance Analyst

University of Oxford - Finance Division

Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to develop their career by joining the University of Oxford’s Financial Assurance team.

Financial Assurance is responsible for providing assurance that the University’s financial processes and controls are properly designed and operating as intended. The team is re-developing, and this is an excellent chance to be involved in establishing and implementing a programme of work.

You will be working with senior colleagues within the Finance Division to develop processes, and with departmental and divisional colleagues to support the implementation of controls. You will be involved in establishing a routine of assurance activity to confirm that controls are operating effectively and as intended, playing a key role in undertaking activities to provide assurance evidence.

The Finance Division employs approximately 160 staff, most of whom are based at Hythe Bridge Street, just a short walk from central Oxford.

This post would suit someone who is working towards or has recently achieved a professional qualification in accountancy or internal audit, or with equivalent experience in business processes. You should have a strong understanding of financial controls and an ability to operate in a complex environment and take initiative to develop and implement new ways of obtaining assurance. You should have proven experience in a relevant role, and excellent communication skills together with the ability to deal sensitively with key issues and gain the confidence of senior University officers and accounting professionals.

Only applications received before 12.00 noon on Wednesday 10 January 2018 can be considered. Interviews are anticipated to be held in the week commencing Monday 5 February 2018.

Please note that the University of Oxford's retirement policy has changed. With effect from 1 October 2017, all employees at Grade 8 and above have a retirement age of the 30 September before the 69th birthday. All employees at Grades 1-7 do not have a set retirement age.
