UKRI Innovation, Rutherford Fund Fellowships at HDR UK

King’s College London is looking to appoint three fellows to work at the forefront of Health Data Science to address the national priorities, as identified by the Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) programme: Actionable Analytics, 21st Century Trials, Data-driven Public Health and Precision Medicine. 

These fellowships seek to recruit outstanding postdoctoral basic or translational scientists who are looking to establish their own independent research careers. These prestigious awards will provide a generous salary plus running expenses for 3 years in order to enable appointees to establish their own research programmes at King’s. 

The awards may be held in any part of the university but must be focused on one of the HDR UK areas. Applications must include: 
• CV (2 pages) 
• Outline of the proposed research programme (2 pages) 
• Covering letter (including explanation of choice of host department/school and academic sponsor; candidates must confirm that they will be able to start this post by 15th February 2018) (1-2 pages) 
• Letter of support from proposed academic sponsor 
• Optional additional support letters (from academia, NHS, or industry).

The selection process will include an interview with a short presentation. 
Interviews are scheduled to be held the week commencing: 8th January 2018. Selected candidates will need to be in post by 15th February 18. 

The appointment will be made, dependent on clinical or non-clinical at either: 

Non-Clinical Research Fellow Scale: Grade 7, spine point 38 £41,212 plus London allowance £2,923 per annum. 

Clinical Research Fellow Scale: point 15, £42,399 per annum plus £2,162 London Weighting Allowance per annum. 

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 36 months.
