Senior School Administrator

International School of Creative Arts

Position Summary:

Be responsible for the smooth and sustainable running of the School administration with particular emphasis on HR management and School secretariat

Reporting To:  Executive Director

Main Duties:

Resource Management

  • Manage the School operations ensuring effectiveness and efficiency
  • Be responsible for reviewing and sourcing suppliers for ISCA
  • Monitor the Administration budget and authorise any material orders

HR Management

  • Be responsible for the administration for all HR matters: Staff contracts; staff correspondence, staff training, annual leave, central staff records etc.
  • Liaison with the School’s HR Consultancy Company


  • Be responsible for all day to day financial processes of the school including School shop sales and printer credit sales
  • Work with the Finance Officer to ensure that tuition and boarding fees are collected etc

School Administration

  • Be responsible for the collation of School documentation, including inspection documentation, contracts, meetings etc.
  • Be responsible for booking of facilities, student and staff transport and catering


  • Day to day management of the IT contractor to ensure that all IT equipment is fully functioning

Health and Safety (under guidance of the Head of School)

  • To review and update the Health and Safety Policy as appropriate
  • To ensure that all risk assessments are carried out and are up to date
  • Liaise with outside agencies such as the South Buckinghamshire Fire Service as appropriate
  • To respond to staff concerns over health and safety issues
  • To maintain standards and procedures regarding health and safety
  • To maintain the school’s accident book and to monitor the frequency and seriousness of incidents
  • Ensure that all servicing and inspection of plant and equipment is carried out
  • To hold meetings with premises staff to discuss health and safety issues


  • Chair administration meetings
  • Be responsible for the administration and arrangements of Board meetings and other senior Management meetings.
  • Attend the Schools Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings


Be involved in additional projects lead by the Executive Director and provide managerial support to the Executive Director for international projects which enhance the academic profile of ISCA

Demonstrate the School’s values in everyday work and practice. Motivate and work with others to create a shared culture and positive environment.

Ensure that strategic planning takes account of the diversity, values and, experience of the School and the community.

Ensure clear delegation of tasks and responsibilities, so that teams and, individuals undertake effective planning, allocation, support and evaluation of work.

Staff to Manage:

  • School Secretary
  • Assistant Registrar
  • Finance Officer (day to day management)
  • IT contractor (day to day management)

Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)

Experience Required:

  • A successful track record of senior managerial roles in the Educational Sector
  • Extensive experience in managing a team of staff
  • An extensive knowledge of administrative processes

Specialist Training Required

Particular Aptitude/Skills:

  • Confident and enthusiastic attitude to working in boarding school environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good time management with proven organisational skills.

Salary: Competitive and negotiable salary depending on experience
