Audio Modelling Developer (KTP Associate)

Based at the RPPtv office at Angell Sound Studios in London, you will lead a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between RPPtv and the University of York.

The project will develop cloud-based tools for sound modelling and synthesis. This will entail design, development and testing work at all stages from prototype to final release products, as well as engagement with academic and user communities.

You will be educated to Masters level with significant study components in audio engineering, music technology and software development. You will preferably have a PhD in computer-based audio analysis and/or modelling, or be able to demonstrate considerable experience in research and development in this area. The Music Production, Processing and Analysis Group (MPPAG) at the University of York is concerned with the development and creative use of technologies and environments for sound capture, modification and reproduction. The Associate will be employed by The University of York, but you will be based primarily at Angell Sound Studio in London, with visits to the company’s others sites and clients, as well as to conferences and exhibitions.

The post is full-time (40.0 hours per week) and is available for a period of 24 month.

The salary will be fixed at £30,688 per annum on Grade 5 of the University’s scale. There is also an additional £2,000 pa for training and development.
