Research Fellow - Condition Monitoring for Wind Farm Power Electronics (80203-117)

Fixed term position for 24 months.

The School of Engineering is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to carry out research on condition monitoring power electronics found in offshore wind turbines, wind farms and HVDC converter stations. You will conduct research and write up your work for publication, contributing to industrial application proposals and papers for steering groups and other bodies. You will translate knowledge of advances in the area into research activity and support the Principal Investigator to ensure successful project progression.

You will have a developing research profile with the ability to publish high quality research output and will be able to contribute to the development of funding proposals. Excellent modelling and experimental skills including ability to validate proposed techniques are strongly desired. You are also required to be an excellent communicator with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure.
