Research Fellow in Medical Statistics

The salary will be paid at Grade 7, £ 41,212 to £49,149 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be fixed term for 3 years

This is a full-time (100 % full time equivalent).

The Department of Primary Care and Public Health, within the School of Population Health and Environmental Sciences, wish to recruit a full-time research fellow in medical statistics with an understanding of methodological issues in health research. The post holder will have a dual role where 50% of their time will be undertaking research and working on applied statistical projects which will include designing and analysing clinical trials. The other 50% of their time will be providing advice to investigators developing grant applications as a member of the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) team in London (http://www.rdslondon.co.uk/)

The post holder will engage in collaborative research with colleagues in the School and across King’s Health Partners. The role will involve working on recently funded clinical trials, analysing clinical studies and contributing to the development of funding applications for research. The post holder will be expected to develop their own research profile with support from senior colleagues. In addition, the post holder will contribute to consultancy and teaching as part of the wider statistics team in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health as a member of its statistics group led by Prof Janet Peacock.  As part of the RDS London team, the post holder will be expected to provide expert advice and guidance on developing a grant application, including advising on appropriate research methods and study designs to investigators targeting NIHR funding.

The selection process will include an assessment and a panel interview
