Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Clinical and Professional Practice

We seek to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer who will conduct internationally leading research activities, and provide quality, innovative teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Medway School of Pharmacy.

The Medway School of Pharmacy is a unique collaboration between the University of Kent and the University of Greenwich. The School is recognised as an established School of Pharmacy and obtained a very successful reaccreditation from the General Pharmaceutical Council in 2013. The school has over 600 undergraduates and more than 150 FTE postgraduates (including more than 40 PhD students). The school has established an international research reputation in certain key areas in biological sciences; chemistry & drug delivery; and clinical & professional practice.

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical and Professional Practice you will:

  • Deliver both research and teaching.
  • Obtain research funding in your area of expertise to fully support the position.
  • Publish in high impact peer-reviewed journals; and develop cross-disciplinary projects with colleagues in the school and across the two universities.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • A First degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area and a PhD in a health-related discipline.
  • Experience of research of an internationally leading standard and significant experience of health related research relevant to pharmacy practice.
  • A record of health related research publications in leading journals and have a record of success in having won competitive research grants from national or international funding agencies (essential for senior lecturer position)
  • First-hand experience in higher education teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level (essential for senior lecturer position).

For the Senior Lecturer post, you must demonstrate a higher standard of achievement in either excellence in practice/activity or leadership within and/or beyond the discipline and your University and how your achievements have been recognised in impact and recognition.

You must also demonstrate a strong record of research leadership and successful grant applications.

The Medway School of Pharmacy is a unique collaboration between the University of Kent and the University of Greenwich. The School is recognised as an established School of Pharmacy and obtained a very successful reaccreditation from the General Pharmaceutical Council in May 2013. The school was 9th in the recent Guardian League Table for Pharmacy & Pharmacology and was also recognised as the best institution in the last NSS.
