Lecturer in Civil Engineering (Water Engineering)

The School of Engineering & Computing at UWS is well established and an internationally recognised academic centre. The School is seeking to strengthen its teaching and research expertise through the full-time appointment of a Lecturer in the area of Civil Engineering.

Applicants should have a first degree in Civil Engineering and a higher degree, preferably at PhD in their speciality. It would also be essential to be a Chartered Engineer and have membership of an appropriate professional institution. Relevant industrial experience and a proven track record in research would be desirable.

Research and/or industrial experience in the fields of Water Engineering and Hydraulics is an essential requirement of the post. In addition to experience in the use of Computer Aided Design software, Reality Capture, and Renewable Energy Systems would be desirable. The proposed staff member would take the lead in developing new teaching materials in the subject area as well as establishing appropriate research and commercial activities particularly with the civil engineering sector. The post holder will be the programme leader for the MSc in Civil Engineering.

The successful candidate will be based at our Paisley Campus and will contribute to teaching and research activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level across the School.
