This post is available for 14 months working 0.8 FTE to be an active member of a research team working on an on-farm, industry-funded project on optimum perch provision for commercial broiler chickens. To assist the team in the development of research proposals and in the planning and delivery of the research so that the overall objectives of the project are met.

The successful candidate must:-

  • have or be about to obtain a relevant PhD
  • have at least three years of experience in conducting farm animal welfare research, including experience in conducting animal behaviour assessments and in producing related scientific papers for publication
