Alumni Events and Life-Long Learning Manager

Events are a core part of the University’s alumni engagement programme and the Events and Life-long Learning Manager will play a key role in the strategic planning and management of events for the Alumni Office. 

The postholder will independently manage the calendar of smaller alumni events, and work with the Deputy Director of Alumni Relations to develop and manage the Meeting Minds series - annual Meeting Minds in Oxford Alumni Weekend with over 90 individual events and a goal of attracting 1700 attendees, biennial Meeting Minds in Europe, and biennial Meeting Minds in Asia, both with a goal of attracting over 600 alumni. They will also develop, in collaboration with the Deputy Director, a creative events strategy incorporating the current events as well as new innovative ideas to disseminate content in support of the University objectives, including the use of online media. 

The Events and Life-long Learning Manager will also work alongside University colleagues to develop and promote opportunities for life-long learning for alumni.  

The postholder will need proven experience in event management, along with strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with colleagues in the Alumni Office and across the collegiate University. The ability to work on own initiative and effectively organise workload, particularly under pressure deadlines is essential. Availability to work outside normal office hours and travel internationally is required.
