Research Fellow

University of Birmingham - School of Engineering/Department of Mechanical Engineering

Duration: Fixed-term for 24 months

Applications are invited for a position of Research Fellow with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Birmingham on an engine research and development project funded by the JLR. The post is for 24 months.

Essential skills and experience required for the post holder will include: 1) Excellent planning and project management, good communication skills and a good team player; 2) Good knowledge of engine combustion including heat release analysis; 3) Engine testing; 4) Engine performance and emission measurements. Desirable experience will include: 1) Engine design optimization; 2) Engine calibration; 3) Emissions systems.
