Your new role

The Head of Financial Transactions will report to the Deputy Director of Corporate Finance and lead the Financial Transactions Function. This comprises 20 FTE across the Student Finance, Finance Services and Finance Support Teams with 3 team leaders as direct reports. The role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in transaction processes, ensuring excellence of customer service and enforcing robust systems of internal control. The role has a strong effect on operations across the University and has a direct impact on financial sustainability. As well as providing day to day guidance there is a need to engage with the business and participate in strategic planning of finance systems and other corporate systems, as well as projects and relevant new procedures or ideas.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally be CCAB/CIMA qualified from either the private or public sector. Significant managerial and leadership experience, including ownership of projects to deliver process and systems enhancements is a must, as well as the ability to work within a team and influence others to achieve strategic outcomes. You will be professional, empathetic, have gravitas in your approach and be able to build strong working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
