Fitness Instructor

University of Salford - Estates and Facilities Services

Part Time (30 hours per week)

Utilising the resources of some 300 directly employed staff, supported external contractors, Estates & Property Services is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking, landscaping and Leisure Services.

The operation of the Sports Centre is managed by the Facilities Manager and the position of Sports Centre Fitness Instructor has now been created. The Fitness Instructor will assist in the delivery of the departments exercise and physical activity programme in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.

The existing indoor Sports Centre is located on the Peel Park Campus and contains the following facilities:

  • 25 metre swimming pool with sauna and spa
  • Fitness suites consisting of cardio vascular, resistance and strength and conditioning rooms
  • 2 squash courts
  • Fitness studio
  • 6 court sports hall
  • Health Hub

Outdoor sports facilities are located on the campus at David Lewis playing fields and contain the following:

  • 4 Grass Pitches 

Please note that the working hours are a combination of days, evening and weekends to suit needs of the business.

The successful candidate will be engaging in ‘regulated activity’ with children or vulnerable adults and as such there’s a requirement for enhanced DBS check for this role.
