About the role:
The Lord Ashcroft International Business School is one of our five Faculties based at Chelmsford and Cambridge. We offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses to students on-site and within partners in the UK and around the world. The Business School is ambitious and increasingly research focussed offering contemporary and relevant courses aimed at enabling graduates to meet their career aspirations and maximise their potential. We're now seeking a new lead to develop our department for Economics and International Business which is establishing a real reputation for excellent impactful research and education focussing on building a progressive economy as well as an equal and inclusive society.

You'll be an ambitious and committed academic leader, able to manage a department of research active colleagues and a growing portfolio of work at our Cambridge campus. Over the past three years we’ve invested heavily in our Business School and this post represents an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic group, committed to growing student recruitment, research and external income.

With a PhD or Professional Doctorate, you’ll be an excellent academic leader with an established research reputation. You’ll have excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and networking skills with the ability to build and nurture external contacts for the benefit of our school. You'll have successful and significant teaching experience at Higher Education (HE) level as well as of leading and managing course and curriculum design. You'll have experience and expertise in academic research and/or in consultancy work related to the subject area. You'll have an established academic reputation as evidenced by external examining, membership of subject networks and/or external committees and a contribution to subject development. Experience of managing staff within a HE setting and experience of establishing key partner relationships is essential.
