We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious individual to develop a proven systematic and scalable toolkit through which the optimization of social value can become standard practice and rolled out to gain the maximum benefits through Construction and Infrastructure expenditure in the City of Salford.

Urban Vision are a multi-disciplinary service organisation within the property development and regeneration sector; delivering services from pre-application planning advice through to design, comprehensive project management and overall scheme delivery. Urban Vision have a partnership with the City of Salford until 2020 with an increased emphasis going forward to deliver social value to the citizens of Salford. It is hoped that a mechanism can be developed to lever social value through the investment within the City boundaries by both the public and private sector whilst gaining an understanding of the most effective levers to optimize social value in each type of relationship between the Council and the construction/infrastructure sectors in Salford.

As a result of the knowledge transfer from this project the company will know how to best and at what stage in the development process to intervene to generate social value.

The successful candidate will undertake a 12 month collaborative project between Urban Vision and the University of Salford (School of the Built Environment). Based in Swinton, Salford (M27), you will be supported by the staff from the company and the academic team from the University of Salford whilst undertaking research and development work. The post holder, from their involvement in this programme will also gain a deeper understanding of commercial project management, finance, business relations and marketing strategies.

The successful candidate will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain highly desirable specialist business skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and gain valuable experience from their commercial and academic mentors. They will also benefit from a Personal Development Budget of £1,000 and will have the opportunity to register free of charge for a postgraduate research qualification.
