Salary: £31,931 to £55,288 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

These posts are based within the Respiratory Theme of the Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), part of a £23.6 NIHR to Nottingham.

The Clinical Research Fellows appointed to these three posts will perform translational research studies in lung diseases, each working on a defined project:

The COPD Clinical research fellow post will conduct clinical translational studies utilising novel and state-of-the-art imaging alongside detailed physiology assessment in patients with COPD in order to assess the extrapulmonary manifestations.

The Asthma Clinical research fellow post is an exciting role which combines both academic insight and clinical exposure in an important study examining the role of novel monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of severe asthma. Candidates will get a first class academic education in a world leading research institute and exposure to severe asthma in a nationally commissioned severe asthma centre.

The airways clinical fellow will develop a program of work looking at the assessment of the distal airways and whether new nebulizer technology can improve the treatment of acute exacerbations by manipulating distal airway physiology.

The Clinical Research Fellow would be expected to register for, and undertake supervised research towards, a higher research degree (PhD/research DM) on the University of Nottingham’s well-established, highly successful nTRANS Doctoral Training Programme.

All tuition fees will be covered by the Nottingham Respiratory Biomedical Research Centre.

Applicants will have completed core medical training and obtained the MRCP or equivalent. They should demonstrate evidence of academic excellence and experience of clinical training at Core Specialty Training Level or equivalent.

Applicants should have excellent IT skills, good team working skills and able to work flexibly.

These posts will be offered on a fixed-term contract from 01 August 2018 to 31 July 2021. The post is available on full or part time basis, minimum 21.75h per week. The post is open to a job share.
