Research Assistant/CSO

East London NHS Foundation Trust - Mental Health

The East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two research assistants to support the Trust in achieving the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) targets and Key Performance Indicators. The post-holder will assist CRN: North Thames to increase, facilitate, and sustain the delivery of NIHR CRN portfolio studies at ELFT.

The main duties of the post-holder will be identifying, recruiting and supporting patients through the research process as well as providing support as necessary to study teams and clinicians. He or she will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.

Additionally the post-holder will be responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting on research data pertaining to specific projects. The post-holder will undertake statistical data analysis using complex methods and established software packages and be involved in the publication and dissemination/utilisation of findings.

The Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry, where the post will be based, is designated a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre the only one in the world specifically for 'mental health services development'. It is one of a small network of selected centres that are involved in writing the European Mental Health Action Plan.
