Professor/Associate Professor of Medical Technology

Nottingham Trent University - College of Science and Technology

Location: Clifton Site

We are looking for a full Professor or Associate Professor with expertise in devices, sensors or imaging for medical technologies, implantables or wearables. Your research should complement activities in the School of Science and Technology and you will contribute to the planned multi-million pound Medical Technologies Innovation Facility, to be opened in 2019. You will be interested in working with business to generate research with impact and to translate your research outputs into healthcare products. As well as significantly enhancing the research activities of the School, you will also provide research leadership to further strengthen its reputation and culture. We offer an attractive start-up package and a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment

Nottingham Trent University is renowned for leading edge research, strong links with industry and its excellent teaching that shape lives and society. Research in the School of Science and Technology is extremely strong in terms of outputs, funding income, and impact, particularly in biosciences and general engineering (including physical sciences) and with emerging strengths in computing and sport sciences. This includes leading-edge research in X-Ray imaging systems for airport security, as recognised by a Queen’s Award for Further and Higher Education in 2015. Our ambition to develop a Medical Technologies Innovation Facility is matched by parallel multi-million pound investments in our Clifton campus, an award-winning “green” campus. These include the recently opened building for interdisciplinary teaching and research in science and a planned new building for engineering.
