£33518 to £38833 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits.

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 October each year (subject to completing six months service).

APM Grade 8.

Main Purpose of the Post

As an ambitious and driven client facing member of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) you will be responsible for providing international partner finding services for commercial, technology and research collaborations to SME’s and Universities throughout Wales. In it essential that the post holder is experienced in the challenges facing industry when commercialising a technology, sustaining growth and scale to build relationships built on trust and expertise. Brexit has increased the profile and demand for internationalisation support which this role aims to address.

As part of the Innovate UK family the post holder will provide specialist funding advice to Welsh SME’s to develop funding applications for both National and European funding instruments e.g. Horizon 2020, Eurostars. A key aspect of the role is to protection of client’s Intellectual Property Rights so knowledge and experience in this area is crucial.

By acquiring and using expert knowledge the post holder will facilitate brokerage opportunities and deal-making with local SMEs who have ambitious plans for growth. Some international travel is required to support international business collaboration, innovation and research. The advisor will be expected to evidence the impact created as a result of the deep relationship they will build with clients.

The University wishes to add additional value to SMEs with plans to launch a local business innovation network. The post holder will be required to develop and drive the programme to create stakeholder value.

The staff member will work with the Head of Commercialisation, Research, Enterprise and Innovation Services (REIS) and the EEN Programme Manager to assist delivery of the University and funder’s strategic goals.
