Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Associate (to be known as Senior Impact Fellow) at the Institute of Criminology.

This is a new part-time position (60% FTE) and is available from 2nd January, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Senior Impact Fellow is required to support a newly created Centre for Global Human Movement within the University of Cambridge. This is an exciting cross-disciplinary initiative, with international elements too. Essentially, we are looking for someone with strong interests in global human movement (from any discipline) to help lead on research bids to achieve high level scholarship, policy impact, methodological innovation, and sustainability in terms of the future of the Centre.

The purpose of the role is to support the establishment of interdisciplinary academic groupings (with external partnerships) so as to build a substantial externally-funded research programme in the University. The role-holder will actively engage in fundraising and in supporting research funding applications and develop a network of partners engaged with diverse issues regarding the social, economic, and political impact of global human movement.

The role-holder must hold a PhD in a relevant specialist subject and would have at least three years of postdoctoral research experience at the level of Research Associate, or equivalent experience.

Capacity to negotiate with potential external funders/benefactors, write research bids and to engage with policy makers is essential.
