An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Science and Technology at Bournemouth University for a first line IT Support Technician.  The purpose of the role is to support Staff and Students in the Department of Computing and Informatics with its specialist computing Facilities.  The department has specialist facilities for teaching and research in a wide range of technologies including Networking, Digital Forensics and Security, Software and systems development and a HPC cluster.  These systems run a range of Operating systems including Gnu/Linux, MS Server and Desktop, with a range of virtualisation technologies.  You will make a significant contribution to the on-going development of IT systems and provide solutions within a changing business and technical environment.

You will be self-motivated and proactive with excellent problem solving and communication skills; able to deliver technical support to the departments varied customer base.  You will need a wide range of proven good practical IT technical skills to provide services and support for a range of users and you will play your part in delivering our diverse IT strategy to support course content and research.
