Research Associate

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. John Worthington in the Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences, Lancaster University, UK. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and will investigate the novel interactions of intestinal peptide hormones and immune cells during helminth infection. This position is available for 2 years in the first instance, starting in January 2018. Further Worthington lab details:

We are seeking a highly motivated immunologist able to implement our plan of work and explore new avenues as they arise. Experience of immunology is essential, while a background in parasitology, intestinal inflammation and/or a home office personal licence is not a requirement but would be an advantage. You will employ state of the art immunological techniques, multicolour flow cytometry, tissue culture methods and transgenic in vivo models to explore the interactions of peptide hormones on immune cells during infection and inflammation.
