Brunel University London is a campus-based University situated in Uxbridge, West London, and is home to nearly 15,000 students from over 100 countries worldwide. Founded in 1966, our mission is to practise engaged scholarship, combining teaching and research excellence with the practical and entrepreneurial approach pioneered by our namesake, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Brunel Business School is a major part of the University. The School won the Times Higher Education (THE) Best Business School of the Year award in 2013 and has experienced significant progress in its research activity placing it number 12 among UK Business Schools in terms of ‘research power’ (Association of Business Schools ranking, 2015) and in the top 20 in terms of ‘research intensity’ (THE ranking, 2015).

The Organisations and People (OP) Division is an intellectually stimulating, creative and research-driven Division that combines expertise in the areas of Human Resources Management, Organisational Behaviour, Operations Management, Global Supply Chain and Information Systems.

In line with our growth strategy, we are seeking to appoint one Lecturer/Senior Lecturer or Reader in the area of Human Resources Management/Organisational Behaviour (HRM/OB) to support existing and new programmes as well as advance understanding in key areas of HRM/OB such as diversity and equal opportunities, innovation, performance and well-being at work. We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join the OP Division and the HRM/OB Research Group who can make a significant contribution to the implementation of our research, teaching and learning strategy. The HRM/OB Group has an international reputation in its key areas of research; members have published in 4-star ‘World Elite’ and 4-star journals, and have won funding from bodies such as the British Academy, ESRC, Leverhulme Trust, and NASA. Teaching duties will include contributing effectively to the MSc programmes in Human Resources Management and Human Resources-Employment Relations which are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD), as well as to the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD programmes.

Applicants for the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer post must possess a Doctorate in a relevant field and be CIPD and/or BPS (British Psychological Society) members, or at least have the qualifications to become members. They should also have an active research profile in the subject area including journal publications in 3-star and 4-star journals and be experienced in teaching Human Resources Management/Organisational Behaviour or related business subjects to a high standard and able to demonstrate effective and innovative teaching practice at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

For a Reader appointment, applicants should have, in addition, substantial experience in programme management and development, dealing effectively with quality assurance and compliance processes, and a publication record in top-tier journals, as well as a record of income generation.

For informal discussions, please contact: Dr Jane Hendy, Head of School (jane.hendy@brunel.ac.uk)
