Post Doctoral Research Associate (Image Sensors)

Temporary contract for 36 months

We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work within The Centre for Electronic Imaging (CEI). The CEI is a research centre within the School of Physical Sciences at the Open University. The CEI is a collaboration between the Open University and Teledyne e2v, a world-leading manufacturer of scientific and industrial image sensors.

You will join an existing team of scientists and engineers to support the research goals of the CEI and the Faculty working on new and existing projects supporting detector science research for space science and astronomy missions; and to promote knowledge exchange with industrial partner Teledyne e2v.

You will have a PhD in Physics, Electronics Engineering or a closely related subject with demonstrable proficiency matching one or more of the main duties detailed in the Job Information. You will also be proficient in software algorithm development in MATLABTM, C/C++, Java and/or Python (or similar) development environments and a good understanding of semiconductor physics, electronics and MOS circuits. Good problem solving and analytical skills and excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills are also essential.
