About us

London Medicine & Healthcare is one of four Divisions currently run by London Higher. It is comprised of two advisory groups spanning the medical and healthcare higher education sector.

London Medicine is the group bringing together the Heads of schools of medicine, dentistry and associated clinical academic disciplines in London, together with senior health education stakeholders. The Healthcare Education Group is a forum bringing together senior representatives from those higher education institutions (HEIs) in London that teach, train or conduct research in the healthcare professions. This includes nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions. Their remit is to monitor, research, promote and advocate education and training on behalf of this internationally respected cluster of HEIs and disciplines.

About the role

We are seeking a Project Officer to lead on the day-to-day running and management of the Healthcare Education Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a project officer wishing to develop their skills, profile and to make a real contribution healthcare education and training policy. We are looking for an experienced individual in health and/or higher education policy with the ability to lead on servicing committees, driving agendas and running small projects. There may also be the opportunity to work on areas within London Higher which are non-health related, for the right candidate.

About you (requirements)

We are looking for an individual educated to degree level, with sound knowledge and experience of health and/or higher education policy. An interest in healthcare policy is advantageous. Previous experience of project management and managing networks are also desirable.

  • Experience of working in health and/or higher education policy; working with multiple stakeholders and managing networks
  • Proven ability to draft agendas, presentations and reports in a clear way that addresses key issues in a succinct manner
  • A flexible worker, with experience of working in a small team and a willingness to work collaboratively, but also able to work independently when necessary.
