Right now, we’re looking for friendly, motivated Team Leaders to join us at our laboratories in Burton-on-Trent. Your challenge

You’ll manage a team day-to-day and help your department perform at its best, meeting KPIs and SLAs, as well as driving continuous improvement. You’ll allocate work, tackle team administration and solve issues by working with colleagues. It’ll be up to you to arrange training and development, control annual leave and set out Personal Development Plans.

At the same time, you’ll be ensuring equipment’s maintained and that department data meets quality standards. And, naturally, you’ll see that health & safety is always the priority. It’s all about inspiring a culture where people work safely, collaborate and are proud to excel and achieve. And, as a ‘Cultural Architect’, you’ll play a key role in encouraging positive change.

Your profile

Educated to degree level in a Science-related subject, you’ll have some knowledge of chemistry and scientific terminology. You’ll also be familiar with basic laboratory procedures and up to speed with Excel, Word and other standard IT packages. However, it’s your people skills that really matter here. It’s important that you’re good with others, both face-to-face and over the phone. You should be able to deal with customers and colleagues at every level, negotiating if required and getting the best out of people. If you’re organised, professional and naturally forward thinking, there could be a place for you here at SOCOTEC.
