The new Health Technology Hub will provide a world-class resource supporting technology development. The Hub will focus on research and development activities relating to product development and testing of health technologies associated with home diagnostics, monitoring and assistive living. This role is part of a European (ERDF) funded project led by the University and this position is supported by the 2014-2020 European Regional Development Fund.

The new 900m2 facility will house a new suite of laboratories and associated offices including prototyping, biosensing and instrumentation laboratories. The facility will be used by businesses and researchers, working on a spectrum of projects to develop new products relating to health technology. A key element of the success of the Hub will be the technical support for the Hub which will be led by three senior technicians including one with expertise in prototype development.

It is essential that you either have a Vocational qualification in mechanical engineering (or a similar subject), a degree in mechanical engineering (or similar) or you have equivalent experience. You must be able to demonstrate broad based experience as a mechanical engineering technician, being involved in design, development and prototyping of new units and systems.
