Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in International Development

The School of Nursing Midwifery of Health is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to take up a full time position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in International Development.  Applicants will need to have experience of working with healthcare professions and experience in international partnership working and curriculum development.

Ideally we are seeking a full time member of staff, though alternatives could be considered.  You will join an established team of academics and report directly to the Associate Head of School, International.  The applicant will support the associate Head of School (International) to operationalise and expand the schools international strategy to include: acting as and supporting link tutors for our transnational education (TNE) provision, support delivery of Flying Faculty, to actively seek to increase course capacity with existing providers, embed online international learning (OIL) within our courses, facilitate Erasmus activity within the school, develop internationalisation within our curricula and support the corporate targets for international student experience and field trips.  Previous experience of teaching within a Higher Education Institution as well as education to doctorate/higher degree (or equivalent professional qualifications/experience), including a teaching qualification is desirable. You will be a confident and clear communicator with a high level of inter-personal skills, and personal effectiveness to promote an outstanding experience for all our stakeholders.

The University offers academic and professional development and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for individuals who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification. You will be supported to develop your interests in order to progress your career. Salary is dependent on experience. This post will involve frequent UK and international travel.

Applicants must have a relevant Master's degree or a PhD in an appropriate subject and experience of delivering in an educational setting.

The School is recognised for the high quality of its provision of applied and professional courses. This includes a broad portfolio of on-campus, off-campus, blended and distance learning courses both discipline and profession specific. The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including Local Authority Social Services, Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, education, and the independent, voluntary and the private sectors.
