The Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation (EEA) is a part of Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering. The Research Group of Electromechanics belongs to the Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation. It conducts scientific research and gives highest education in the field of electromagnetic energy converters.

Postdoc position in Electromechanics

Aalto University Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation invites applications for a full-time postdoc position in the Research Group of Electromechanics led by Professor Antero Arkkio.

The research carried out in the position is related to the numerical analysis of rotating electrical machines. Electromagnetic, thermal, and/or mechanical models will be used and developed. Examples of more specific topics are the core losses and torsional vibrations of electrical machines. A successful applicant should have some experience and strong motivation on working with modelling and measurement of electrical machines. Good command of English, doctoral degree in the field, and a good academic publication record are requirements.

Currently, there are 5 PhD students working for the research group. The postdoc will work together with some of these PhD students and help in guiding their research. 10% of his/her working hours should be used for teaching.

This position is offered for two or three years. The postdoc will receive a salary determined according to the regulations of Aalto University.
