Salary (Grade H3): Lecturer £38,167 - £53,426 pa incl. London Weighting

Salary (Grade H5): Senior Lecturer £53,426 - £58,164 pa incl. London Weighting

Civil Engineering at Brunel University London has enjoyed a sustained period of growth in our research portfolio and student numbers in our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In the latest National Student Survey, we were ranked third nationally for Overall Satisfaction. The university has put in place a strategic plan for further expansion of Civil Engineering and is making significant investments in new buildings and infrastructure for engineering in the coming years. We are now looking for an ambitious, dynamic and creative candidate to complement our growing strength in Civil Engineering research and teaching.

We welcome applications from candidates whose expertise is in:

1) geotechnical Engineering

2) project and risk management

The candidate should be self-motivated with clear ability and expertise. In addition, you must have a PhD in Civil Engineering and a clear potential to develop your profile to an international level through high quality research judged by the standards of journal publications, research income generation and engagement with stake holders. For the senior position, evidence of leadership success and vision in teaching and research is essential.

High quality teaching and student satisfaction is of paramount importance at Brunel University London and we expect the successful candidate to be able to engage warmly and constructively with our students and colleagues to provide a high quality learning experience to our students. Membership (or evidence of pursuing chartered engineer status) of the Institution of Civil Engineers, or a similar professional body is required. Applications from candidates with industrial experience, over and above a strong research and teaching track record, would be particularly welcome.
