Analyst Developer (Research Applications)

The Information Services Division supports and enhances learning, teaching, research and a range of administrative processes across UCL. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic person to join our Media Applications team to support, drive and develop this suite of services that support Researchers, which currently include:

  • Sympletic,
  • eprints,
  • Worktribe,
  • and Java Spring and PHP applications developed in-house.

These services are critical to research activities at UCL and play a key role in activities such as the REF which brings £530 million into UCL each year to continue its research efforts.

Essential requirements include demonstrable experience of best practice IT service management and software development, and the ability to develop effective working relationships across the organisation. As part of your role you will act as the technical administrator for the research applications managed by the team, maintaining the solution architecture in line with UCL standards and applying best practice IT service management. You will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in application support and development in a complex environment. You will lead the installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, testing and operation of the services listed above, including 3rd line support and troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 -  £41,864 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
